Valerie Daft is a professional artist who obtained her degree in fine art painting in Scotland with distinction,and is now based in Dublin, CA. She is someone who has taken the study of paint and form seriously, applying it to both fine art and face painting. Paint allows the creation of “other worlds” and is endlessly fascinating. Body art is an area where painting meets sculpture. It's impernamence brings the freedom to be spiderman for the day, or a vampire for the night. Before her formal studies in art she ran a craft shop and cast her clay sculptures to make molds that were reproduced for retail. This comes in handy, especially at halloween working with prosthetics.

 

Valerie has also held national contracts for events organising teams of painters. Numerous international awards have come her way for her art, as have the repeat bookings. Valerie is the current Northern US and Canada rep for FACE, and is the proud holder of a level 3 certificate. She has taught at several conventions including FABAIC, the UK Face and Body Art Convention,the Glasgow Juggling and Face Painting Convention, the FACE conference, and BAYFABA where she has also judged the face paint contest. Her work has also been published internationally over 16 yrs, including covers of major publications.

Recent personal development has come from classes with Kryolan, Dutch Bihary, Pashur, Andrea O'Donnel, Mark Reid, Jay Bautista, Shawna Del Real and others. Valerie has a solid background in the industry but remains up to date with latest techniques and fashions.

 

She has worked for many well known clients in the Bay area, but she isn't going to list them because it is private, as your event will be!
